Skoutari

The small fishing village of Skoutari is located in the southern Mani Peninsula (the lower part of the central peninsula extension of the Peloponnese). See maps excerpt. Skoutari is a typical Mani village. The street view is characterised by natural stone buildings and narrow streets.

There are four tavernas (open during the high-season), a mini-market and numerous small churches. Besides the beach of Skoutari, which is well known for its fine sand and its child-friendly shallow water, there are many other sandy beaches and rocky coves in the vicinity.

The two small towns of Gythio and Aeropolis are about 20 km away. Both are well worth a visit and you get everything you need.

Those who do not want to visit the city find a well-stocked supermarket and vegetablemarket nearby in Vathi (5 km). Alternatively visit one of the many tavernas around.
